A place that trapped you, wore you down, but where your children took their first steps. 

How do you to feel when you step onto a plane, moving to a country you’ve never seen? 

Hopeful? Grateful? Terrified? 

These were the questions I sat with while making Last Flight from Dollo Ado, a short documentary filmed in the final days before one Somali family left the Dollo Ado refugee camps, on the border between Ethiopia and Somalia, for a new life in Germany.
